Profile

Mrs. Sylvia Choe began to play the violin at the age of 8 in Busan, South Korea. 

Mrs. Choe taught in the Classical Music Club for Professors at Sejong University in South Korea. She also held group lessons and private lessons for all ages in for four years.  She lead the Goyang Armnuri Youth Orchestra as the Concertmaster from 2010 to 2012. 

Mrs. Choe won First Prize at the Music Education News Competition, Asia International Music Competition. She played with several different orchestras in Korea while occasionally performing as a Soloist. She was invited to perform as a soloist at the Chosun Ilbo Debut Concert at Sejong Center for the Performing Arts in 2012.

After her undergraduate studies in Seoul, S. Korea, she continued her education in the U.S. and received her Masters of Music from Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University in 2016.

Mrs. Choe is currently working at sectional violinist at Washington Chamber Orchestra and Olney theatre. 

She has been teaching private violin lessons for over 10 years guiding her students to Howard County GT Orchestras, Howard County Honor’s Orchestra, and All State Orchestras.
